
The company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 298.98 crore in the third quarter of the current financial year against Rs 398.01 crore in the same period a year ago.
The counter fell to Rs 278.60 against Rs 292.55 at the previous close on the National Stock Exchange.
Total revenue during the quarter under review was Rs 2,130.44 crore. It was Rs 2,756.93 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, PTI reported.
According to the company, its results for the quarter ended December are not comparable to those of the prior year period due to the disruptions caused by the pandemic, the report said.
“The impact on the results for the quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2021 is mainly due to the restrictions caused by Covid-19 on business activities. Consequently, the results for the quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2021 are not strictly comparable with the results of prior periods presented,” the company said in PTI’s report.
Its total expenditure amounted to Rs 1,701.04 crore during the quarter.
ZEEL’s revenue from advertising was Rs 1,260.80 crore in the October to December quarter. It was Rs 1,302.03 crore earlier. Subscription revenue was Rs 790.15 crore. It stood at Rs 841.91 crore in the third quarter of the 2020-21 financial year. Revenue from other sales and services amounted to Rs 61.69 crore. It was Rs 585.42 crore a year ago, PTI reported.
