SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Central Coast’s biggest 4th of July entertainment show will take place on West Beach with a day-long entertainment event leading up to the colorful fireworks of Santa Barbara with a musical soundtrack tailored to the song.
The event will air on KEYT NewsChannel 3 and simulcast on KJEE’s modern rock station 92.9 FM Santa Barbara.
The event will take place on the beach between Stearns Wharf and the harbour.
A crowd estimated at 20,000 is expected in this area as the fireworks go off. From East Beach to Shoreline Park, thousands more will be found along the coast.
Many have secure pitches with tents at Chase Palm Park.
Traffic controls will be in place at several intersections with barricades and cones.
Additional Santa Barbara Police, Fire and RAM resources will be staged in the waterfront area. In recent years, a mobile command post has been set up.
Boulevard Cabrillo will be closed to traffic at 6 p.m. until the end of the fireworks.
US Army veteran Kraig Pakulski will sing the national anthem before the fireworks.
Pakulski says he will ask the public to follow proper protocols for singing the national anthem hands on heart.
The event is a coordinated event with the City of Santa Barbara and community partners committed to a safe and patriotic presentation throughout the day.

5th of July Beach Cleanup Volunteer Opportunity
With thousands of people flocking to the beaches of Santa Barbara for Independence Day, sadly, a lot of trash ends up on the sand. This year, you have two opportunities to be part of the solution. First, be sure to pick up after yourself before leaving the beach on July 4th. Second, if you want to step up a gear, volunteer to help clean up on July 5th.
For the first time, the Waterfront Department will partner with Santa Barbara Channelkeeper and other nonprofit organizations to conduct beach cleanups at Leadbetter Beach and East Beach from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on July 5. To sign up, go to: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c4fa5ae2ba4fbc70-july
Gloves and buckets will be provided so you just have to show up.
